Peabody - Clinic Volunteer

This opportunity is available to volunteers at Boston Children’s Hospital at Peabody at 10 Centennial Drive, Peabody, MA 01960.

Duties:

  • Interact with patients and families in the waiting room area- play games, read, engage in basic art projects
  • Help to organize and provide a safe, clean environment while assisting with toy washing
  • Assist the supervisor with any other needs, such as programming or preparing materials for patients and families

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old and graduated from high school
  • If applying, must fully complete application and submit reference sheet
  • Available to attend an in-person interview
  • Available to start February 2018 and continue for the year commitment
  • Please note: Due to the patient population, applicants should have experience working with children with developmental delays

Current Volunteer Needs Are:

  • Monday 9-5
  • Tuesday 9-5
  • Wednesday 9-5
  • Thursday 1-5
  • Friday 1-5

Minimum Commitment:

  • One set 4 hour shift per week for one calendar year

Jamaica Plain Martha Eliot Health Center - Reach Out and Read Volunteer

Duties:

  • Help to create a literacy-rich waiting room area by reading to children of all ages
  • Check on waiting room book shelves and restock as needed
  • Help to organize and provide a safe, clean environment while assisting with toy washing
  • Assist the supervisor with any other needs, such as programming or preparing materials for patients and families

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old and graduated from high school
  • If applying, must fully complete application and submit reference sheet
  • Available to attend an in-person interview
  • Available to start in February 2019 and continue for the year commitment
  • Note: Spanish fluency is helpful

Current Volunteer Needs Are:

  • Wednesday 2-5
  • Thursday 2-5, 5-7
  • Friday 2-5

Minimum Commitment:

  • One set 2-3 hour shift per week for one calendar year
