PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
As a clinical psychologist with a health specialty, I have focused my career on providing care that integrates both the medical and psychological care of child, adolescent, and young adult patients. I have been drawn to patients who have been diagnosed with both a medical illness or injury and concurrent psychopathology. These diagnoses together often make standard treatment challenging. Psychiatric issues may complicate adherence to medical treatment in some patients. Therefore it is important to manage the psychiatric impact of the chronic medical illness or injury on medical outcomes.
